Press release: uganda to participate at Indaba Tourism fair 19th - 11th - May 2015

KAMPALA, UGANDA – A contingent of Uganda’s public and private tourism players will exhibit at the annual Indaba Fair in Durban, South Africa from May 9th to 11th 2015 in Hall ICC, stand number ICCT06.

The largest tourism expo on the continent began in 2006 and has grown over the years. It is anticipated to attract 1,000 exhibiting companies from different countries & 6,500 Visitors, 300 Hosted Buyers,4000 Travel Professional Visitors (International & Pan African) and 200 media (Global & Pan African).

For three years now, Indaba has won the award as Africa’s best Travel and Tourism Show. This is a leading Business to Business Exhibition for Africa’s leisure travel industry, bringing the World to Africa and bringing Africa to the world’s leading source markets. This fair services all tourism channels, inbound, outbound and intra-regional, thus catering for all markets– leisure travel, luxury tourism, and the MICE/business travel sector and offering suppliers/buyers a choice for first time.

Last year, was the first time that Uganda exhibited in Durban, led by Hon Minister of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities with a stand space of 54sqm. The group had 6 tour companies, UTB, Civil Aviation Authority and Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA).

This year, UTB, the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, UWA, CAA together with 14 Ugandan Tour Operators will show case Uganda’s tourism attractions, investment opportunities, hold meetings with other participating government agencies, network with travel industry groups.

UTB will host the Atta Indaba Networking Evening on May 9th 2015 sponsored by UWA. The African Tourist and Travel Association (Atta) networking event this year is bringing together over 250 tourism and travel professionals from all over the world. At this event, Uganda has an opportunity to present, showcase Uganda’s tourism.
